Camera: Sony NEX-5, Furry Bumbag – ASOS,  Militaryesque Bumbag – Angels Sale, Skirt – Courtesy of Storets.com, Shirt – Gmarket

Just a quick one today: Immidiate Future, the PR agency that represents Sony sent over the NEX-5 for a ride around the block for 2 weeks. I’ve only done the introductory handshake with it so I haven’t got much to share on its usability or functions, but that grip was pretty impressive. The camera’s a hybrid between a DSLR and a point-and-shoot with interchangeable lenses, and most vital of all for us fash bloggers, it doesn’t need an entire bag of its own like my needy tank Canon does. In fact, concerning how many cameras bloggers sold for Canon the past few years, I really hope this camera will get them slightly nervous.

    Nice camera. But I’m not allowed to buy it cos Kit says I have to “get a Canon” haha! I’ve been thinking about bum bags lately, so practical. I like this furry one xx

    i considered getting a NEX or PEN when i bought a new camera last week, but i’m too attached to Nikon DSLR’s, chunky as they may be, to get anything else.

    can’t wait to see the photos you’ve taken with the camera! it is pretty awesome… and so handy that it is so tiny. seeing as i’ve only just gotten my canon 550d i definitely wont be dipping in to getting this little beauty anytime soon… but it’s so cool that this sort of technology is developing. love that you can just pop it into your little bag. sending this link over to my parents as they want to get one of these cameras! haha. xx

    it does look like a good camera, useful at least, but i have to say it’s pretty ugly
    it takes away that magical thing you have when you use a normal Canon/Nikon DSLR
    anyways, love the pictures as usual <3

    I have the NEX-3, and I must say I do love it! Sometimes I miss the big bulkyness of an SLR, but then I remember how annoying it was to carry around and I love my little sony more! x

    Hmmm I have to be honest and say I’ve generally always been more a fan of the Canon and Nikon cameras, but that Sony does look great! And it is such a perfect size… Looking forward to seeing the test shots! :)

    You have such a way with words, Shinski. Having just handled that bad boy for a few minutes in Hoxton, Yeah, it’s one smooth ride. I am starting to think Kit is getting paybacks from Canon cause that’s her answer to everything. Got a headache? Get a Canon. Boyfriend sleeps with your best friend? You get my drift.

    It’s so true tho that the weight/size thing makes a big difference. I basically have to base my life round carting my Canon around: if I wanted to do a school run I’d have had kids. And as much as I love my Canon – and I’m not saying this in front of it – after my experience with a Canon rep in the photographers’ press room @ fashion week, not so sure anymore.

    Who did make the fuzzy bag Shini? just did a post with some shots from Hoxton last week but would love to see what the little Sony produced. Hope you’re having a lovely holiday xx

    All those compact DSLR/point-and-shoot hybrids they’re coming out with are very interesting, but I gotta say, once you go DSLR, it’s hard to go back! As heavy as these things may be, I get frustrated if I don’t get to use all my functions haha. :)

    I recently got the Olympus E-P1: the digital version of the PEN. It’s so much easier to cart about than my Canon 400D, without having to compromise on features. Oh, and it’s pretty. ^__^

    I have a DSLR/point and shoot hybrid made by Sony. It’s an older model, a DSC-H7, but I love it! I can’t wait to upgrade to a real DSLR, but until then my little camera suits me fine :]

    ah yes i’ve heard about this camera. it’s honestly something i’d use only if i’m in a hurry (can NOT stuff a DSLR in my bag quickly enough) or if i’m going to a concert with a no DSLR/camera policy (it’s quite hard to hide a DSLR!)
