I've moved on...
...to a different domain. Why, what were you thinking? The truth is, I just woke up one day and decided it's time for a changeā€”a metamorphosis, if you will; or, in layman's terms, if Britney can shave her head, then maybe so can I? Nevertheless, it's been a rather handsome 10 years of talking to you, and thank you for putting up with all my moodswings and terrible dad jokes. Fear not! The hormonal imbalance and jokes are more terrible on CUBICLE, see you there.

I’ve had this post draft open by my bedside for about 30 hours – I have the flu equivalent of a death sentence in the 17th Century, or at least that’s what I like telling everyone around me to evoke sympathy and donations. (Le boyfriend keeps asking if he can have my DVD collection once I die) But when you’re 1) horizontal in bed and 2) 39 degrees and steamin’ from the ears, coherent sentences don’t come together, especially not for a blog entry. As I was drifting in and out of sleep the photos above started to merge into one dream and in a state of semi-high I somehow managed to relive this day trip I took to Oxford visiting Jen with Jill and Kit. Of course, this being a dream the trees were broccoli and Harry Potter was frolicking in the field with the cows (bits of HP were shot in Oxford)… but what an awesome way to re-experience a wonderful day in a beautiful city.

BTW, remember to get your annual flu shot, because as cool as it sounds to stay in bed the whole day and pick your own dream subject (should’ve watched Avatar…) to feel like you’re going to DIE is not very pleasant.

Shots of moi by Jen, thank you!

  4. Woah you’re making it sound like you’re suffering from a black plague of some sort. Hope you feel better by the early wake up call, I haven’t slept for one night (well I slept for 47 mins) due to responding emails half way round the globe about work.

Bahhh shame we didn’t make it to Bicester Village or swim in the river.

    Beautiful photos. Fantastic. Feel better

  6. The photos are so gorgeous! You’ve captured little elements of Oxford that I’ve never even noticed. That really was such a lovely day. Was such fun to have you guys over.

Really hope you are starting to feel better soon!

  7. Mother goose, mother goose!
What gorgeous pictures, Oxford truly is beautiful.

Hope you’re feeling better, lots of tea should help?

  8. Can I split the DVD collection with le BF? Poor Shini, you wanted this flu so badly and now.. I forgot how hideous it is, it really is awful, but the bad part doesn’t last forever. I love these photos so much apart from the one of me – I really hate it, I must say! – but man, those are gorgeous shots. It really was the most magic dream like day, it’s inspiring me to do another post, as there are more shots I haven’t shown.

Isn’t it funny, all 4 of us with cameras, and its like with memories: we share the same images, and yet we see different things… I love those broccoli leaves. And that tree in the mist. I’m going to do another post this week and call it Shini’s dream.

Oh! and the surprise of going to Jamie’s and seeing Fred and his wonderful news.

Feel better & fly safely and then get lots of rest once you’re home. xxx

Lovely post and just think about how you will kick you bfs behind as soon as you’ve recovered enough for it, for eyeing your DVDs. This will speed up recovery, I guess or at least it would speed up mine.

  26. get well soon!!!!!! and you made me wanna go to oxford now.. very soon! damn I fell in love. the pics are incredible and I wanna eat everything on the pics. you should start tourist guides for some cities actually! everytime I see your pics I wanna be exactly the places you have been to.

Hope you feel better soon! Flu is awful awful. Keep warm & hydrated. Although I did get the flu shot this year (and yes, true, did NOT get the flu), I got the most awful chest infection that lasted for a month. I didn’t even know you could bruise your ribs from coughing like that before.

But nevermind, at least your dreams are punctuated by pretty pictures and not audio! Nothing worse than repeating audio dreams. Jeez! Not a very comforting comment is it? I do mean it – hope you get better soon!!!

  28. Gloria

aw :( Sorry to hear you’re sick! Well, at least you’ll feel like a new person once it blows over. Plus, you can catch up on any shows you’ve missed with the extra time and not feel as guilty!

  29. these are amazing shots, i used to live in oxford a while ago, thanks for sharing these photos, brought me so many nice memories

  30. Beautiful pics. I’m now terribly craving for an exciting short trip.

  31. I hope you’re fully recovered now! The last time I had proper flu (not just a bad cold) I texted a friend to say ‘if I die in the night, I want you to know that you’ve always been a good mate’. Bit melodramatic but I felt awful. Anway. Nice pictures. Oxford is dreamy to visit.

Hi! I want to ask you – isn`t your bum bag too wide for you? I have such a problem with mine and wonder what should I do…
    Greetings,
    Rose

  33. Hi Rose, yes it is quite wide! If I wanted to wore like I did in the above photo, at my waist and not at the hip I have to pull out the lead further than where there are holes and just almost make a knot to secure it!

  34. These are such gorgeous photos!!

  35. Hi! I’ve just found your blog and it’s amazing! Really beautiful pictures and I love the stylings! I hope you get well soon:)

  36. You really make me want to visit Oxford ! very nice pics

  37. Loving the shoes!

  38. I’ve never been to the UK but following your blog makes me yearn for English breakfasts complete with scones and tea and actual silverware instead of the SoCal standard of bagels and Starbucks. LOVE your blog, especially appreciative of your super natural insight and rhetoric…I’m a FAN! :D
