I've moved on...
...to a different domain. Why, what were you thinking? The truth is, I just woke up one day and decided it's time for a change—a metamorphosis, if you will; or, in layman's terms, if Britney can shave her head, then maybe so can I? Nevertheless, it's been a rather handsome 10 years of talking to you, and thank you for putting up with all my moodswings and terrible dad jokes. Fear not! The hormonal imbalance and jokes are more terrible on CUBICLE, see you there.

I think it’s high time I revive this series because honestly it’s quite fun putting together fantasy outfits, like I have somewhere to wear these to. Oh the joy of working from home. Take Look #2 for example – first date? any date? Dates with the hubby usually involves him telling me to go and change into trainers so we can walk his daddy-long-legs pace, and being asked if I ate a hamster because my lips are very very red. Or Look #3 – yeah pffsh, my business meetings usually happen over Skype, me in pyjamas munching on M&M’s, lying that my webcam isn’t functioning. I mean. I just don’t think they’ll trust working with a girl with no eyebrows. I’m kidding. I have eyebrows, please believe me. The colour of the Iris & Ink duchesse-satin top, exclusive to THE OUTNET.COM – hero piece of this month’s three-ways-to-wear – does put me in a rather romantic mood though. Plus, it’s the best kind of silk – those of the super-thick buttery sort that keeps its cocoon-y shape regardless of what’s happening underneath. I guess I can go eat a hamster afterall.

The classic British Summer is here – hot, muggy, air-just-shy-of-armpit-consistency, one cloud away from November degrees. I’m not complaining though, at least not on Thursdays and Fridays. See, I’m trying out a new career path where I now professionally complain part-time and the rest of the week I focus on freelance weather forecasting, because apparently in this country you don’t need a particular degree to read the weather. Here’s the secret: a rusty slot machine at the BBC does the job for you – the reels groan a bit and a series of icons forecast the weather. Today I played with a few pieces from the new Topshop Reclaim to Wear collection, in which disregarded prints from the previous seasons got upcycled into airy, summery pieces. The slots pooped out a perfect weather for this: Fog – Cloud- Sun, 28 degrees, humidity 2,000%; there also may or may not have been a Tsunami looming but unsure as the icon for it is a Bucket of Water. They’ve been using the machine since the 70’s after every single barometer/thermometer in the country quit and left for Spain. I’ll leave for Spain sooner or later, I predict.

Thank you Charlie for helping with the shots!

I had it all figured out – I built a machine (The Winchester) that would guarantee survival for myself and Emma Stone (and Jennifer Lawrence, if she’s up for that kind of relationship) when the first fiery meteor of the Apocalypse hits the world. We’d sit in it, have a pint and wait for it all to blow over, then we’d step out onto a charred earth and repopulate and generally live happily ever after. And these are a few things I’d have packed – timeless pieces so I don’t unnecessarily exchange food for the latest alien trend, but I understand old habits will die hard (i.e see me shell out kebabs for a pair of Charlotte Olympia kitty flats this season).

It takes a while to understand which pieces are Forever classics for you, and I believe we all have different sets, but for me it was seeing what I took into the shower every day, and the kind of clothes I wanted to slip into the minute I dried off. Not to forget of course, little accents like red lips or a pair of Louboutins (my first!) that help take on the day. I’d also add the Isabel Marant sneakers as a Forever classic, but I’ll save that for if & when I’m doing ‘What’s in the diaper bag’ post, as I’m convinced it’ll be the only thing I’ll wear from ‘fashion’ once a junior is born in the far future.
